The photograph must be 200 pixels wide by 240 pixels high, saved in JPEG format and between 10 KB and 50 KB in file size, with a white background.
Can the photo be in colour or only black and white?
Colour photographs are accepted provided the background is plain white, the image is in JPEG format and the file size stays within the 10 to 50 KB range.
Will my photo be uploaded to a server when I resize it?
No. The resizing happens entirely in your browser, so your photograph is never sent to any server and there is no sign-up or fee involved.
What happens if my photograph does not meet the UPSC specifications?
If the dimensions are not exactly 200 by 240 pixels, the file is not JPEG, the background is not white or the size falls outside 10 to 50 KB, the form is liable to be rejected or flagged during scrutiny.
